Tea at the Waldorf
Mothers like a good deal and the Waldorf tea at £12.50 is well priced.
From Thursday to Saturday at 3pm there is a historical tour of the hotel, which celebrates its centenary this year, followed by a glass of Champagne and tea in the Homage Patisserie, a jewel box of a room with wood panelling and period furniture.
The cakes, from Sachertorte to strawberry tarts, are the highlight. If you still hanker after the old Waldorf tea dances in the Palm Court, regular Tango Teas are held there.
