Bents Garden Centre – Leigh in Lancashire
Bents garden centre is probably not to well known outside of the North West. But it is regarded as the best garden centre in the UK. This is an award that it has won year in year out over the last 5 to 10 years.
It has been extended and improved over the last 5 years and is still growing on a yearly basis. The restuarant is a 5 star service that has some of the best quality food that is possible on a help yourself style of service.
The garden centre itself is first class with a selection of goods, furniture and plants like no other garden centre in the UK.
At Christmas time they display the best xmas display in the UK. It is so good that it is regarded as a secret, and no cameras are allowed inside. They do not want there ideas displayed elsewhere in the UK.
No other garden centre can match bents for the quality of food and service. It opens at 8.30 every morning and has a nice selection of news papers for you to choose from should you arrive in time for breakfast. The choice here is simply staggering. A full english breakfast will knock you back around £9. It is enough to fill you for the day.
Tea and Scones or a Caffee Latte is top class. Just a Latte and a Scone with Jam & Cream will fill you for a good 4 hours. The scones are the biggest I have ever seen. They should be as they are over £2 without jam or cream. 5 stars alone just for this service.
Bents is well worth a visit. If you are looking for a nice day out at a garden centre with food quality to match this is one place well worth a visit. It is a 5 minute drive off the M6 at J21a towards Leigh.

There is a huge amount of car parking adjacent to the garden centre and it’s on flat well-drained land.

SUMMARY
The indoor sales area is top end retailing in stylish surroundings. The plants area contains an exceptional range of top quality plants in very attractive surroundings. These two come with the inevitable high prices.
The cafe is also stylish and serves top quality, well presented food. In this case though, the above average prices are merely a reflection of the quality and presentation of the food. In truth, the cafe is offering excellent value for money.
