Coffee In Connaught Square Markus Coffee
One of the finest coffee shops in London. This little gem is right on the edge of Connaught Square in what is locally known as Connaught Village. Why they call if a village I have no idea, however Coffee in Connaught Square is a delight for anyone to enjoy.
The coffee shop itself is ideally placed at the corner of the village closest to the busy shopping street Edgware Road, and only 2 minutes walk from Hyde Park from Marble Arch which includes the tube station.
The coffee shop itself has a small seating area inside right next to the window which gives you a delightful view of the residents and goings on in and around the square. Outside you have 2 small tables again ideally located. There are some very expensive shops located in the "village" one of which is the original shoe shop from …… which is almost directly across the road.
Other shops in the square include a very nice Arabic restaurant, a Indian restaurant, Pub, newsagents, hairdressers and an Italian restaurant which boasts many famous visitors.
Also based here are the DPG. They are a armed protection team from the Metropolitan Police for diplomats and M.Ps. They look after the residence of the former Prime Minister Tony Blair, who lives in the square. This helps to make this one of the safest environments in the London area as it is manned 24 hours a day.
The coffee produced by this small but unique shop is of any type that you would like. It is first class, and comes exactly as you wish. You can also purchase from a small selection of fresh cakes and biscuits. On a regular basis the coffee is roasted in there special roasting oven and the smell of freshly roasted beans drifts through the square. An almost irresistible smell.
They have a fantastic selection of coffee for you to choose from all kept in old fashioned tins as in the old days. Almost any type of coffee bean can be bought and bagged as you would like it.
